Week 2

Materials

This week during lab, we asked Dr. Ellis for advice on how to pursue resources for the project. She took us to see the dLux Light Lab, which is conveniently located just around the corner from the Innovation Studio in One Drexel Plaza.

Cassandra provided a lab notebook that was used in Design Lab I and II, so we started a new section and began drafting the module layout drawings.

Resources

In 2014, one of Dr. Ellis's groups did the same project and Albert has been trying to get in touch with the group members for advice on what materials to use. We have referenced their blog and it is on their blog that we found 2 helpful videos with instructions on how to use the Arduino and sound shield.

Goals for next lab

Our goals for the remainder of the week are to get in contact with the other group, and to begin research and post our findings. We need to research:

  • What materials we will need and how
  • How to use those materials
  • Psychological effects of light and sound on humans, color theory, etc.
